Doubt in Analysis authorisations

i have implemented analysis authorisations in BW 7.0 System

After that when i login to the query using a user id where analsysis authorisation is implemented,

I could not see the Report directly. I have to apply filter and then only i was able to view the report.

My question is, when u implement analysis authorisations , you will be able to view the report direcly or you will be able to view the report only after applying filters

To directly answer your question Balaji, you need to create the filter variable and in general settings of the variable, choose Processing by "authorization".It is a required step to view the data. Otherwise, analysis authorization will not give desired results. and also, do not forget to give I EQ : in your authorization object against the authorized field's selection.

Hello...

I do not understand your question completely, but I can say that we implemeted the analysis authorizations concept without major problems...

Using the main transaction (RSECADMIN - Manage Analysis Authorizations)

you can

1) create the authorizations (characteristic values);

2) assign users;

3) and directly "log as user" from there (no need to know log with the users password). Used the log function there to be able to identify problems...

This has nothing to do with "view" the report. That access has to be given using functions (and queries or workbooks published it the functions menu).

Hope it helps....

I will explain what i have done.

I have created a infocube involving 2 info objects namely Emp no(IO_EMPNO) and Department(IO_DEPT) and data is loaded wiht Dept as " Mechanical" , "Electrical"

Then i created an authorisation(RSECADMIN) using the following values and assigned it to a user.

IO_EMPN0=*

IO_DEPT="Mechanical"

0TCAACTVT=3

0TCAVALID=*

After this when i login as the user , i am not able to see the data directly. It is giving a message "No Authorisation"

But when i go to the filter option on the left , i am able to see only "Mechanical" for IO_DEPT and when i set the filter for that , i am able to see the data relevant to "Mechanical" only.

My question is :-

When ever u implement Analyis Auth, you will be able to see filtered data directly or you have to do that Filter changes and only view the data.

You need a authorization-variable in your filter for the infoobject IO_DEPT.

Pls let me know of how to include the authorisation variable

Be aware that there is no need to use authorization variables in SAP BI 7.0!!!

This is one of the great GREAT advantadges of using analysis of authorizations.

What you need is to define the adequate authorizations to access query/workbook and funcionality. Analysis authorizations does not relate with funcionality access, only with providers and data access.

Q: "When ever u implement Analyis Auth, you will be able to see filtered data directly or you have to do that Filter changes and only view the data. "

A: You only view the data, no need to filter. Once again, use the log from the analysis authorization to see the information the system provides.

I defined the following technical objects in a

separate "technical authorization":

0TCAACTVT Activity in Analysis Authorizations

0TCAIPROV Authorizations for InfoProvider

0TCAKYFNM Key Figure in Analysis Authorizations

0TCAVALID Validity of an Authorization
