Does a machine VM running RPA Desktop Agent need an interactive user logged in all the time?

On one of my projects, there is a IT security policy that has all users logged off from their machines after 30mins of inactivity.

Does the the desktop agent used for unattended RPA scripts still require a user to be logged in to run these scripts at all times? If it does, and no script runs for 30 mins would the RPA agent be logged by this policy or does the agent create activity through regular polling for new jobs and so is unaffected?

I would be grateful for any clarification here. Many thanks

Hi,

To be able to run a scenario (bot attended and unattended) an agent needs to be logged in. This is only possible when the Windows session is open and so user still logged in. The agent itself does not use any mechanism to maintain any activity.

J.
