Is there a way to schedule a report via Business Objects Crystal Server and display it on user Deskop?  Would the changes apply every time the report is run?

thanks

Hello Dorota

BI Widgets is  Client tool which is came up with package for BI4.0/XI3.1,

so its included in your BI4/XI3.1 license,

you can not display report on user desktop with crystal report server ,

but you can create a pdf file and export it on user desktop using scheduling a report via Business Objects Crystal Server.

Thank you,

Haresh

Hello Dorota,

This is definitely possibly logically. but as a best practice it is always suggested to schedule the report to a shared path which is accessible by multiple users. scheduling to individual user desktop is an tedius task and you should have access to all the users desktop at OS level.

Alternatively you can try with BI widgets also.

I don't want to schedule to user desktop I want to display live, something like Active Desktop future.

For example I would like to have a small window on a desktop which will be linked to the report and the window will refresh with info after the report will reschedule.

Is there a way to do this?

I am not familiar with BI widgets  We only hold license for Business objects Crystal Report Server.  What is the cost of BI Widgets?

Thanks

Denis thanks I was able to find and download Widgets SP6.  When installing is the server installation required or I should only install it on the client machine?  Will it work with windows 7.

Thanks

hi,

BI Widgets connects content on Business Objects XI R3/4.0 and displays it as

dynamically updating data using desktop widgets.Using widgets, you can

have BI content easily available, while using only a small portion of your

desktop screen.

"if you do not have sap bo 3.0/4.0 server then you can not used SAP Widgets,

but you can export it in to pdf format and schedule it for live data."

Thank you ,

http://HostName:8080/dswsbobje/services/Session  this URL has to point to the machine where you have BOE server installed with BOE web applications deployed.
