Disable "Main Report" on CrystalReportViewer in CR 12

There is a "Main Report" button when the CrystalReportViewer is displayed. What is its purpose? How do I disable it? I've disabled several other items:

viewer.ShowGroupTreeButton = false;

viewer.ShowRefreshButton = false;

viewer.ShowParameterPanelButton = false;

viewer.ToolPanelView = ToolPanelViewType.None;

but how do I turn off the "Main Report" button?

Hello,

The drop down list shows you the report you are in. When you drill down to a subreport, you can comeback to main report using the drop down list box.

Thanks.

The reports I'm displaying don't have subreports, so is there a way to remove the drop down list? Thanks for explaining why it is there.

Hello,

Right click on viewer control go to properties, find the property named 'HasViewList' and select false.

Thanks,

The KB [1434517 - How to remove the "Main Report" tab on the Crystal Reports viewer for VS .NET|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_dev/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do] may also do the trick for you.

@Ludek: the example you mention does not work. When I walk through the controls collection, the PageView-control doesn't contain any control.

Here the controls I found:

  • PageView

  • Splitter

  • ReportGroupTree

  • TotallerTreeview

  • InteractiveParameterPanel

- Panel

- Toolbar

- ToolStrip

- ToolStripTextboxControl

  • StatusBar

so no TabControl there !

PS. I use VB.Net 2008 with CR 2008 SP3.

Any ideas,

Patrick

Hmm. I just did a quick test and the code works as advertised for me...

Your references are to 12.x assemblies?

Only difference I see is that I did this with .NET 2005 - don't think .NET 2008 would make a diff, but I'll try it a bit later

Yes, reference to version 12.0.2000.

Pat, make sure you are on SP 3:

https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100007123572010E/cr2008_sp3.exe

Other than that, all I did is a straight copy and paste and it worked...

Ludek,

I found it: your sample only works if it is executed after setting the ReportSource property of the CrystalReportViewer. If executed before the TabControl isn't yet loaded to the PageView.
