Dimensions Vs Characteristics

Hello Experts,

Can the number of dimensions and characteristics be the same? Does that happen in general??

I have the following Characteristics

0_Account

0_Function

0CurType

0CostCenter

0CompanyCode

0Version

0_CalYear

0_Calmonth

Just as an fyi - the account and function determines what cost center the cost goes to.

What would generally be my dimensions ??

the account and function determines what cost center the cost goes to.

the dependency u r citing holds good in ur source system according to business logic .. but coming to BI(as the logic would have already been applied and the cost center been assigned), I dont see any difference this would make in the context of performance .
