Hi Sree,

In lo cockpit extraction you have the option of the setup tables you can fill the set up tables as and when require or reload the lost deltas as well.

But whereas in FI extraction you dont have the particular cockpit to do that.It is mostly related to the generic extraction.

tks

Hi Sree,

Lo is the extraction which is normaly used and very effectively used because it is mostly related to SCM/lo part.

It is very easy to handle as well because the control on data is very good.

But whereas in FI it is different type of extraction wherein we mostly treat this like a generic one because due to its design pls see link below will give you good insight on lo

Hi Sreedhar Kalyanapu,

The basic difference between LO and FI is:

LO extraction works based on Update Tables where as FI extraction works based on Timestamp table.

LO: For updating the extraction of transactional data from the different logistics applications (MM, PP, SD and so on), the technology for collective updates (‘V3 updates’) is used (until PI 2003.1). This means that the data is collected in the R/3 update tables before the transfer to the interface: the data is retrieved there by means of a periodic update process that needs to be started in order to transfer delta records to the the BW system delta queue.During this V3 collective run (that you can start and schedule from LBWE for each application component), the data is transferred to the BW delta queue (that you can see from RSA7 (see the picture below) or LBWQ transactions), from which they are retrieved by means of (delta) requests from the BW system.

FI:With Financial Accounting line items that have been posted in the SAP R/3 system since the last data request, the extractors identify the following delta dataset using the time stamp in the document header (BKPF-CPUDT).

When a delta dataset has been selected successfully, the SAP R/3 system logs two time stamps that delimit a selection interval for a DataSource in table BWOM2_TIMEST:

For the transferal of line items from Financial Accounting, important global settings can be made in the SAP R/3 system in table BWOM_SETTINGS.

Hope it helps.
