Diagnostc Agent Setup Guide for z/OS missing.

Hi All,

I want to install the Diagnostic agent (7.30) on our z/OS databse host. Does anybody know where to find the setup guide for this installation?

I only found the software and the setup guide for UNIX, Windows and IBM i.

unfortunately not. This Installation guide only helps for UNIX, Windows and IBM i environment.

I need a guide for z/OS.

Why do you think it is not valid for z/OS?

Oh of course, it is valid!

My problem is: I do have the correct software (the dvd that you posted), but I can not find any Installation guide for my software.

In the Diagnostics Agent Setup Guide the installation with program sapinst is described. But the software for installation on z/OS does not contain any sapinst. The installation is executed with a rexx procedure (I expect).

The DB runs in z/OS, what about the application server?

the application server runs on a LINUX-Host (no problem to install the Agent there )

Hi Ulf,

I contacted colleagues from Solman because this was strange for me. Bad news, unfortunately this platform z/os is not supported to install a diagnostics agent. It is a limitation of solution Manager 7.1

I am very sorry for not being able to give a more desirable response.

Oh, really bad news! Because in SOLMAN_SETUP I have to connect solman to a diagnostic agent on our database host ...

According to note, 1234384, the SMD is included with the installation master CD, if not then refer to note , 1052298.

Thanks for the reply, but the software is not my problem. I have already downloaded it from the market place. I can't find any installation guide for z/OS.

The Installation must be completely different from unix installation, because the is no sapinst on the DVD. There is only a rexx-file to execute.
