Dev & Prod Environment

Friend,

Could any one expain...

We do modelling in Dev environment.

Extaction and Sheduling is done in which environment? Is it happening in Production environment of BW Server. Otherwise the live data will come to only the Development Environment Is n't it? Please expalin.. What are all the things in development Env.. and things done in Production Env?

Hi Joe,

In the development system, you have to do all the development activities...(extract,datamodeling, queries developments...etc) and should not connect production/qa system to development system of bw. load the data from r/3 development system to bw system and test the objects..once all developments are done then move/transport the objects from development system to qa system...test the objects again using the qa source system data in the qa bw system...once the testing is ok then move the objects from development system to production system and load the data from prod. system to bw prod. system..this is the general procedure...
