Hi SAP,

We have following queries regarding BYOK enablement in SAC Tenants.-
1. How and where does BYOK gets applied in SAC?
(On specific Story/Model level, any granular level or for whole SAC Tenant level)
2. Can we use single SAP Data Custodian tenant for multiple SAC tenants for enabling BYOK?
3. What will be the components required to enable BYOK?

4. How a user/SAC Admin can do the BYOK configuration for their specific SAC Tenant.

5. Does enablement of BYOK will affect our SAC tenant's existing configuration, function or will it affect our existing Stories, Models Connections etc?

We have already referred below KBA and SAP Help document but still not clear on how will this BYOK will get applied in SAC tenant. Kindly assist.

1. How and where does BYOK gets applied in SAC?

Ans: Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) is an encryption key management system that allows enterprises to encrypt their data and retain control and management of their encryption keys. It will be applied by ops team on your tenant.

2. Can we use single SAP Data Custodian tenant for multiple SAC tenants for enabling BYOK?

Ans: You can reach to account executive they will align some to help these question.

3. What will be the components required to enable BYOK?

Ans: You need data custodian.

Access keys.txt
API endpoint.txt
Secret Key.txt

4. How a user/SAC Admin can do the BYOK configuration for their specific SAC Tenant.

Ans: BYOK is enabled for data encryption so user and admin have nothing to do

5. Does enablement of BYOK will affect our SAC tenant's existing configuration, function or will it affect our existing Stories, Models Connections etc?

Ans: This is not going to impact your existing connection in sap analytics cloud.

Hi SAP,

1. BYOK will be applied on Tenant level or it needs to be apply on granular level like we do for Data Access Control?

2. Apart from connection will it affect any of our existing Stories, Model or other SAC Objects?

3. How much time does SAP takes to enable BYOK on SAC Tenants?

Regards,
