Hello

We are applying XI SP14. As per the documentation we have to apply patch for BASIS,Java and XI Adapters.

Does anyone applied Java patch using SAPInst. We have downloaded the necessary .SAR files but don't know how to apply the same using SAPInst. Is there a wizard (like SPAM transaction in SAP-GUI or deployment tool like SDM) in SAPInst which accepts these files and applies it.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Rajeev

pls go to service.sap.com/instguidesnwo4 and download the upgrade guide for sp14.

to brief the process:

1) downloas SAPCAR and in command line pls extract all the WAS / j2ee SAR files together in the same folder using the command sapcar -xvf XXXXXXXXXXXXX.SAR. You will find a sapinst in the path SP14\JAVA\SAPINST-CD\SAPINST\NT\I386. Executing this installable will guide you thru rest of the process.

2) you will find 2 SDA's to upgrade the XI(XIAF, XIAFC, XITOOLS). pls loginto SDM and install these SDA's through the same.

Note: SP14 needs to be upgraded to patch 2 as SP14 has got few issues.

Naresh,

Thanks for the quick reply but as I mentioned earlier we already downloaded the necessary .SAR files. But when we execute the SAPInst it gives multiple options like

1] SAP ERP

2] SAP SRM

3] SAP Netweaver Components

Almost every component has got Java option.Should we select the Integration server under Exchange infrastructure?
