Delivery Date of Sales Order and Purchase Requisition in Individual Purchase Orders

Hello All,

When creating sales order for individual purchase order, is there a way to make the delivery date in the schedule line of sales orders and the delivery date of a purchase requisition the same date?

I am aware that in the standard specifications, the delivery date of the purchase requisition is one day before the delivery date of the sales order.

I know the date can be controlled by config of shipping point and route.
I can set the delivery date of the purchase requisition to an earlier date, but I cannot find a way to make the delivery date of the sales order and the purchase requisition the same as described above.

Hi,

The attached screenshots are too small to see the details clearly. Could you please clarify if you are inquiring about the scenario involving non-stock (bought-in) material as outlined in scope item BDN, or third-party shipping material as described in BD3?

Best Regards,
Fancy

Hi,

It seems there might be some confusion regarding the use of date fields on various transaction documents in different business processes.

In S/4HANA Cloud:

  1. **Delivery Date in Sales Orders of an item Schedule Line**:
    - This is the date calculated by the system that indicates the earliest possible delivery date for the goods.
  2. **Delivery Date in Purchase Requisitions**:
    - This refers to the requested delivery date set by the requestor, which defaults to "today." In the Sales LoB, a similar concept is used for the customer’s requested delivery date.

Let’s take the example of bought-in trading goods to illustrate this:

  1. A purchaser creates a purchase info record for bought-in trading goods. This record includes a field for "Delivery Time in Days," with a minimum value of 1 day.
  2. A sales rep then creates a sales order for these goods, with the customer’s requested delivery date defaulting to "today."
  3. When the sales order is saved, a corresponding purchase requisition is automatically generated with the "Delivery Date" also defaulting to "today." Note that this does not represent the actual delivery date.
  4. The purchaser then creates a purchase order from the purchase requisition to confirm the requirement. During this process, the system calculates the expected delivery date based on the information in the purchase info record. This calculated delivery date appears in the schedule line of the purchase order.

To accurately assess business implications, it’s more meaningful to compare the delivery dates in the schedule lines of the purchase order item and the sales order item.

I hope this explanation clarifies your concerns.

Best Regards,
Fancy

Thank you for your reply.

The delivery date in sales orders of an item schedule line is set automatically, but then we rewrite it to the delivery date requested by the customer.

If we rewrite the date to a date in the future, the delivery dates in the schedule lines of the purchase order item is set as one day before the delivery date in the delivery schedule line of the sales order item.

I am aware that it is always one day before the delivery date in the delivery schedule line of the sales order item, regardless of the Delivery Time in Days in the purchase info record.

My inquiry has not been resolved. Please help.

Hi @KanaMaeda ,

I've conducted a test in the system and successfully achieved the target you are seeking. Below are the key configurations and data points that influenced the delivery date:

  • Material master data :
    • Item Category Group: CBUK
    • Availability check type: SR
    • GR processing time: 0 days
    • MRP Type: VB / Reorder-Point Planning
    • Goods Rec. Proc. Time: 0 days
  •
  • Purchase Info Record :
    • Delivery Time in Days: 1

With the above master data setup, I created a sales order with a customer-requested delivery date of August 9th (today being August 6th). I was able to update the delivery date of the item schedule line in the follow-up purchase order to August 9th.

I recommend reviewing the above master data settings to identify any discrepancies that may be preventing you from achieving the desired outcome.

Best Regards,
