Delete entry from Import History

Hi Experts,

Can you please help me on "How to delete an entry from Import History in STMS"?

I have imported a request in a non-existent client. Hence it was imported with return code 16 which I can observe in STMS --> Import Overview --> Queue <SID> --> Import History. But there is no option to delete Import History entries.

Please help.

Thanks and Regards,

Karan Shah

Hi,

the import history isn't located in the database. You have to look into the ALOG* files in the log directory of DIR_TRANS. There you could delete single lines with your transport. But be careful! Financial auditors need this history because of checking your change management ...

Kind regards

Hi Karan,

The mechanism behind the import history is that STMS will look in table

TPALOGHDR to check if the time frame for which the import history is

called, is between STARTTIME and ENDTIME.

If it is, it will use the entries in table TPALOG.

If not, it will read the ALOGxxxx files on /usr/sap/trans/log and update

table TPALOG.

A workaround could be to fill the TPALOG by synchronizing the ALOG files

with the DB table.

You just have to set the 'endtime' in TPALOGHDR table to a point in time

where do you want the entries back.

So if you want to refresh the TMS history since first of january 2007,

et the enddate to '20070101000000'. There is no maintenance dialog for

it so you have to write a report or change it direct at the

database level.

Hope this would help.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have earlier been able to delete entries from TPALOG table at database level and that would help remove entries only from Import History.

But in my ECC 5.0 System I am unable to do the same. Please guide me. I do not want to tamper with ALOG entries

More peculiarly I am able to delete the entrieds from TPALOG table but when I refresh the buffer the entries in TPALOG would return.

I am deleting TPALOG entries at DB level (Oracle) and following up with commit statements. The entries do get deleted from TPALOG but the moment I refresh my buffer the entries in TPALOG return.

Please advice.

Hi

1) Go to STMS -> import overview -> go to ->import monitor and

delete the required transport

2) In transaction STMS, click the system you want, click Extra, and click

'Delete Imported/required Requests'.

Hi,

I had already deleted the entry from Import monitor but the entry in the Import History still exists. My system is ECC 5.0. it has no option under extras in STMS to delete Imported request.

Can you please suggest something else.

Thanks and Regards,
