Hi,

I am looking for information about "dedicated connections" (which is in VC since SPS11 or 12?). What is it, what does it do etc.

Thanks very much in advance. Axel

Hi Axel,

I would like to explain further:

Use this option if you have a data source that takes a lot of time to return data. What happens when you use this option is, that you can put your data sources inside nested iViews, and those nested iViews will each use their own connection so it won't be a serial connection (one waits for the other) but a paralel connection.

Note, that this takes more server resources and should only be used in these cases.

Regards,

Natty

Hi Alex,

Dedicated connections are nested iViews, in order to improve response times and prevents timeouts when processing data services with large amounts of data.

Options Dialog Box → Options – Compiler Tab: addition of the

Use dedicated connections for nested iViews checkbox.
