Hi,

One of my user reported that Web Intelligence Rich Client gives a Database Error when I try to refresh a query. Attached the error message.

We have below version of BO and we have SQL Server as the backend DB. All the notes are refering to Oracle DB. Please suggest.

SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 6 Patch 1

Version: 14.1.6.1760

Thanks,

Since you mentioned, SQL server is your DB, how are you connecting to DB? Is it ODBC connection?

If it is ODBC connection, make sure you have 32 bit ODBC connection is setup in user laptop Not 64 bit ODBC.

First thing I would check is, if the TNSPing is working from that system or not? If the report is working via BI Launchpad or not?

If it works in BI Launcpad, see if you can import the universe in UDT/IDT and test the connection.

If this is a problem with client tools, I would say try to do a repair for the client tool. See if that fixes it?
