DataSource for Table T880

Hi ,

I wanted to get whether any standard datasource exist for master table T880 or not in R/3 .

If it not there , can we create a generic datsource for this table .

isn't this information given by BC data sources 0COMP_CODE_ATTR/TEXT or 0COMPANY_TEXT?

What would you miss in the above datasources from T880?

I just checked in RSO2 0COMPANY_TEXT and that's definitively it!

You can use this datasource and even enhance it in rsa6 by appending your missing fields from T880.

But I still would opt for a generic DS....

Enhancing 0COMPANY_TEXT and populating attributes in user-exit will be slower as the DB-table has to be accessed by the BC extractor AND in the user-exit.

Also it would show in BW as a text-load i.s.o. attr-load..

I guess it all depends on the fields needed...

but I don't agree; usually simples source based on table/view will bring aditional fields from the same table/view if appended properly via RSA6.

I doesn't work always but we did that and it worked most of the times.

Therefore I don't think you need to create a generic, neither an exit.

Although in this case we have only a TEXT DS... So you're finally RIGHT, generic DS if you need attributes.

Good to think about the auto field population when adding fields to the extr.struc.

Indeed SAP uses a 'move-corresponding' in the background. Should work but then there still is the mix-up of texts & attributes (which on itself is not bad, SAP uses it more & more, e.g. DS 0ASSET_ATTR_TEXT).

Hi

You don't have ready made data sources for this..This table contains only one record for a small company or very few records if it is a global company..if you need this information..Generic data source is the best option...

Not to my knowledge. Creating a generic DS (tcode RSO2) based on this table is a piece of cake, no delta-mechanism, no ABAP coding necessary. Table is relatively small, load should take no more than a few secs.
