Hello Experts,
I'm looking for some data profiling techniques that can be done in DS designer. Can someone please shine some light on this or direct me to the right place.
Thanks.
In SAP Data Services Designer we can perform two types of Data Profiling.
Column Profiling: To perform column profiling go the Datastore tab and select table on which you want to perform profiling.
Select Detailed Profiling if you want to do Detailed Profiling to find out Median, Median string length, Distincts, Patterns
Try to refresh the task list and after Status turns to Done.
Navigate to your table which you performed Column Profiling. Right click on the table and select View Data and click on Profile Tab to view the data.
Relationship Profiling: It is used to perform profiling on two tables. Select the table which you want to do Relationship Profiling then right click and select Submit Relationship Profile Request
You will find the cursor change to yellow & Green Icon. Point out the other table and select the second table.
Map the fields and select submit.
After status completed to Done
Go to Datastore Tab and select your table right on the table and select View Data. Select Relationship Profile Tab
In this way you can perform profiling in Designer

How deep you want to know? The basic one is open the table and do the profiling by selecting the profile tab.
