Dashboard SP05 Patch 5 BEX Prompt issue

Hello,

I am using Query Browser to connect to my BEX Query.

It is my understanding that BEX query prompts can not be bound to a cell in a dashboard.  How is everyone getting around this?  I have a dashboard with 4 graphs and 4 topics.  Each graph drives the following based on which one of the remaining 3 topics the user selects.  This makes for 58 different combinations/queries.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you,

Roger

Thank you both.

Zahid, I will follow up on the next release.

Sapanesh, I just checked the query prompt seelctor component.  It does not let me select the BEX Query prompt.

Hi Roger,

Duplicate the same BEX Prompt in Query Browser and then use Query Prompt Selector to input the values.

The Query Prompt Selector does not work for all BEX variable types. It works only for formula variables, hierarchy variables and variables with DATE input.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and Regards,

Ramya

Hello,

It is by design. Bex prompts are not supported in Dashboards. You need to define prompts in Query Browser.

I don't know when, but SAP is planning to release a new version of BO soon and this will be supported.
