Custome Properties displaying in one context in portal user business card

Hello SDN Community,

we have created one new ume custom property and we are displaying that property in our portal business card for every user. For that ume property we need normally the length of 1000 characters, but it is only possible to have the length of 255 characters in one ume property.

Our idea was now creating 4 custom properties to separate the informationu2019s

Unfortunately it looks not so nice when we are displaying that in the business card in 4 different containers.

For all new created ume properties especially for the separated informationu2019s the label should not be displayed and there should also be no free row between for example label1 and label2 informationu2019s.

The standard scenario looks like the following:

Label-Property1: Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test

Label-Property2: Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test

Label-Property3: Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test

Label-Property4: Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test

But we prefer the following look:

No labels and no free space between the rows

Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test

Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test

Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test

Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test,Test_test_test

Does anyone have an idea how to configure or customize that scenario in the business card?

Kind Regards

Dirk Wiegele

Hi,

You could code a propertyRenderer which will combine values of this 4 properties into a string, then assign a new property to the BusinessCard which use this property renderer.

Hello Mr. Bodini,

are you really sure that to code one new propertyRenderer will solve the problem?

Does the propertyRenderer renders only the value of the property and not the lable?

If your idea of coding a propertyRenderer is the right one can you explain me shortly how to get a standard propertyRenderer to modify the code.

best regards

Hello SDN Community,

There is a parameter "Composed of".in Property configuration.

The Parameter "Composed of" specifies the properties that comprise the current property.

Could this be the solution?

I tried to use this parameter, unfortunately without success.

Can someone explain like I have to use this parameter.

I have created a new property and in the parameter "Composed of" I included the predefined properties firstname and lastname.

I added this new property to one of the shown businesscardtabs, unfortunately without success.

Hello Senthilkumar.Paulchamy

The "Composed of" parameter was not the solution.

To solve the issue we have created an propertyRenderer to merge the 4 properties to one in the business card.

This was not the optimal solution but the only way, or better I have found no other way.

Not optimal for searching.

The renderer need some logic to handle max length of 255 characters for one property.

for example

1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890 1234567890

This are 263 characters, but you have only 255 characters for one property.

You have to divide the property value on the right place
