Cube update from simulation

Hi All,

Is it possible to update a cube from the 'simulate update' option in the data package of the monitor? The reason for this question is that I updated another cube already with the Infopackage setting of 'Data Targets Only', but I need to update another cube with the same data. Any suggestions?

Hi george,

you cannot update the cube from the option 'simulate update' . its just simulate the update where you can debug the update or transfer rules. Since you have used the option only data targets, its not even possible to update from PSA. Now you have got 2 options.

1) Create an export datasource and use it for the second cube

2) pulle the data from source system again.

Hi George,

By creating an Export DataSource on the cube to which you have loaded the data, and then creating update rules between the cube (loaded) and the cube (to be loaded), you can transfer data between the cubes.

Right click on the loaded cube and you will see an option to Generate Export DataSource.

Hi again

if you right click on your cube, u find one option Generate export datasource. Use this option to generate the export datasource. Now for your infosource, which is created for cube 2, assign this datasource. and just pull the data.

for more clarity on how to create export datasource just mention your mail id. I will send one document. But the purpose of the document is just to validate the cube data against that of PSA. But he discusses the steps to create export datasource which u can use.
