CrystalReportsViewer12 Export buttons don't work

Former Member

The viewer displays fine. When I click the export button, I get prompted to pick which export format I want to do, after entering that, the window closes. I haven't been able to find anything that shows why it isn't working.

I'm running XP.

It has the same non-activity on a Server 2003 machine.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Ralph

Does the app work on your dev computer?

What version of .NET are you using?

What CR Service Pack are you on?

How was the CR runtime deployed to the server?

It does't work on my Dev XP bos or the Windows 2003 server I deployed to.

.Net 3.5 SP1 is deployed to both machines.

How can I tell what Crystal serivce pack it is, and where cna I download the latest from?

The server version was deployed from the below msi last week.

For .NET 2008 you want to be at SP 0 at minimum. You can check on your dev computer by going to Help | About in the CR designer. SP 0 will give you version 12.0.0.683. If that is not so, download it from here:

https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100007528552008E/cr2008_sp0.zip

It may be worth while to see if you can export from a sample win app. vbnet_win_simplepreviewreport from this download will be good to try:

https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252822008E/net_win_smpl.exe

If that works, there is an equivalent WEB app in this download:

https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252812008E/net_web_smpl.exe

so try that next.

Oh, trying an export via code will be a good idea also. Vbnet_win_export is in the above win sample so you could use that.
