Hi Guys,

I have just did a fresh installation of Crystal Server 2016 in Linux RHEL 7.4.

The ReportApplicationServer Failed to Start and cannot be started.

I have tried to cloning the server (like the picture below), restarting the server, and I have also installed the CS2016 in 2 different boxes which still produces the same result.

I added -trace, but the trace does not seems to show any error.

Please kindly help.

Hi,

I suggest you contact Support @ https://support.sap.com/en/index.html

And open a case and get the Admin team to look into it for you, select BI-BIP-ADM for the component

Thanks

Don

Enable the first one and see what happens.

If you click on the Failed it should tell/give to an error message/code.

What is the error?

Hi Don,

The error message is as follows:

'This server is considered failed because it has stopped 5 time(s) in 60 minute(s).

Screenshot is below.

For reference, steps for installations were as per below.

- Downloaded Crystal Server 2016 Linux installation Part 1 and Part 2 from the following link: http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalserver/51052530_part1_Crystal_Server_2016_SP5_LINU... & http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalserver/51052530_part2_Crystal_Server_2016_SP5_LINU...

- Un-rar the first part, and un-rar the second part on top of the first part.

- Install the following 2 with yum install:
yum install compat-libstdc++-33.i686
yum install compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-72.el7.x86_64

- run installation as default install.

The screenshot was me playing around with Report Application Server, including the first one. Some posts that I found suggested to create or clone the Report Application Server, but I still could not get it to start.

The original one that failed looked like the attached image.

Why did you stop and disable the first one?
