Crystal Report 8.5 failed to do direct printing, but can preview and print

Our application is utilizing Crystal Report 8.5

When we try to print a financial report that compares 2 periods (np for single period), it would fail to do direct printing and our application hanged with CPU 100% loading.

However, if we do a preview and press the print button, there will be no problem.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Any info as to what the app is doing when it's printing directly rather than via the viewer?

SDK used, what functionality, etc?

It hanged at the printing dialogue box.

In fact, when I killed the application at Task Manager, the printout came out.

Seems that the Crystal report ocx cannot return "print finished" to our application, for direct printing.

The OCX is a very old technology and not supported by BO / SAP anymore... What OS are you running this on? Did it ever work? If it did, what changed? Do you have the source code? If you do, can you paste it in here? Do you see hte same behavior on a number of computers? Do you see the same behavior with different printers?
