Hi all,

when a user is trying to schedule a crystal reports with the target output type 'E-Mail' within the BI launch PAD (4.1 SP6). The user get's the error message: 'User does not have right to download document and only has rights to schedule to the default enterprise location and inbox destinations. (CRS 300021)'. Does anybody knows what authorization object is here required? Is there a possibility to make something like an authorization trace in order to find the missing authorization?

Many thanks in advance...

Best Regards,

Alex

1838435 - While viewing the CR4E reports from BI Launchpad getting error "You do not have download r...

Cause

'Download files associated with the object' is specifically created for Crystal Reports

Resolution

  1. Logon to CMC > Folders
  2. On the Top level, assign “Download Files Associated with this Object” right for Crystal Reports and WebI
  • At ‘General’ level specify right ‘Download file associated with object’ as Granted.
  • This Resolves the issue.
  • 'Download files associated with the object' is specifically created for Crystal Reports and following is the explanation for the same
  • Description ( as mentioned in Admin Guide )
  • This right lets you do the following:
    1. Export the report in RPT format.
    2. Open the report in Crystal Reports Designer.
    3. Schedule the report in RPT format to external destinations.
  • Impact if this right is denied : Exporting the report to rpt from the viewer, scheduling or SDK will fail. Opening the report through the Crystal Reports designer (CRW) will fail. Report scheduling and the Crystal Reports designer are not affected by this right.
  • We found out that this right will not be applicable for any other Objects such as Folders, Categories and Webi reports. This is only available for Crystal reports so even if we grant this right at the general level this will not harm in any of the other objects. This is specific to Crystal and hence this would not be considered as BUG.
  • You can double check the same by trying following steps :
  • CMC > Right click on Folder : User Security : General Level : Download files associated with the object will not be available.

Hope this helps

Moved to BI platform forums.

Exactly what the message is telling you, the BOE Administrator needs to allow that user to download/export etc.
