Should SAP roles be transported between environments? Or are they created, assigned, modified directly in the productive environment? Which is the best practices?
In the implementation or migration stage, it is recommended to transport it as long as the roles are defined and validated, to create new users in PRD.
Roles are customizing and must only be created and maintained in your Development system and then be transported to your Production system. By doing this you ensure having consistent role setup through your landscape and can rest assured that the roles in your Production system are identical with the roles in your Test system.
