Hi all, hopefully someone can shed some light on how on earth to create hierarchies in the new modeller?
I am creating a model using an excel file as the source.
As a super basic example of data 5 dimension columns and 1 measure is used.
Org | Directorate | Division | Sub Division | Section | Actuals |
MyCorp | Global | Div A | A1 | ETC | 100 |
MyCorp | Global | Div B | B1 | ETC | 100 |
The data is imported, I generate a dimension table for each of the dimensions.
but how do I now create a hierarchy that allows me to drill down: Org > Directorate>Divsion etc etc.
I've tried so many different ways but nothing works.
Is there a step by step guide for the new modeller (with pictures 🙂 that clearly and simply explains the steps?
Hello @JBARLOW2
to be honest... I have not tried it so far ... but if you follow this example:
... you can see that it is a matter of a dimension, not of the model. You can also find a video there.
So my assumption would be it works in a new model, just like in a classic model.
If it does not work like described, then obviously the pages need some updates?!
BR, Martin
