Create Detail Object in UDT universe with similar functionality of WebI detail Object

Hi,

I am using UDT for universe and 4.2 version for WebI in my current project.

I have 2 universes namely A and B.

Universe A contains EMP_NO, EMP NAME and SALARY.

Universe B contains: EMP_NO and DEPT_NO.

In webi report I have created 2 queries from A and B universe and created merge dimension using EMP_NO from both queries.

Now I have created detail object on DEPT_NO and associated to merge dimension (EMP _NO merged).

Problem statement: when super users create their reports using A and B Universe, they are expecting simple drag and drop options ( to avoid creating detail dimension) asking to push this Detail object creation to universe.

Can we push WEBI detail objects to Universe. Please suggest is it possible or any work around.

Hello again folks,

I have found a work around....

In the above use case we can create the DEPT_NO as a detail object and associate this to the main prospected dimension which we may merge at report side ( in this case EMP_NO)

Whenever we merge EMP_NO, it will automatically associates/includes all detail objects(DEPT_NO) under merger dimension as a hierarchy. There after, we can simply drag and drop anywhere in the report block with other data provider objects. Even it works if do not use the merge dimension in the report block.

But the only problem is: If we have more detail objects, it will wrap up under the main prospected dimension.

I have raised separate thread as mentioned below to see the work around. Please go through the thread and suggest any work arounds.
