Hi,
I have all but given up getting report exporting to work under classic .asp on my new windows 2008 RS server running CR XI RS 11.5.12.1838 on IIS 7.5 intranet page.
I was hoping that someone could please tell me the above version can successfully process\export reports with the Java SDK?
If so, where might I find the documentation to setup the server correctly? And documentation on the SDK usage with examples?
Thanks,
Hello Scott
Unfortunately, neither CR XI nor CRXI R2 ship with any Java SDK. You'd need CR for Eclipse to do that. See this link: http://scn.sap.com/thread/1302971.
Issue with CR XI R2 (11.5.x) is that Win 2008 is not supported with this version. I have however collected information from other customer who have been able to get this working. This is documented in the blog Report Designer Component (RDC) in classic ASP applications on Win 2008 Server and Win 7 - Possible ....
Please note that these are only reported solutions and not tested by SAP technical support. Also, note that CR XI R2 has been out of support since June 2011, so no fixes, etc.
Your other option is to use the CR SDK for .NET.

HI,
Thanks very much for your reply.
Apologies for not getting back to you sooner, I have been out of the office.
1. Can you please tell me if the CR for Eclipse version is standalone, or if it must be used within the Eclipse IDE.
2. Can existing reports ( .rpt files) be used with the SDK, or must each report be re-created from scratch?
Hello Scott
CR for Eclipse is not stand alone. It integrates right into the Eclipse IDE. However, you do not have to actually create the report in the Eclipse environment. You could use CR 11.5, or 2008 or even 2011 and then run those reports using the CR Java SDK. Existing reports can be used (reports pre version 9 of CR may need some tweaking)
Just as an FYI; There is also a forum for CR for Eclipse:
