Hello, I am trying to copy a calculated measure into another measure using data actions and when I attempt to the values are not coming in correctly.

this is the error we are getting and I believe this is what is causing the issue. Is there any solution to this or perhaps any other method to bring a calculated measure into a measure?

Any help at all would be great! Thank you.

may be first you should try this on a limited data scope. For e.g. try to copy for 1 entity/ 1 period to see if the copy works for smaller data set. If yes may be you can split this copy steps into multiple steps by either years or entity or any dimension which logically makes sense for splitting the data set. From 2024 Q2 once the infrastructure of the tenant migrates to HANA cloud , you will get the ability to copy calculated measures in Data Action advanced formula itself by enabling a config statement. But for time being you can only use copy step and try restricting the data set.

Hope this helps !!

Hi nikhil, Thank you so much for your input. We have already tried to limit the data scope to a singular measure while adding filters to place the values. And we still are not getting the correct values. So by Q2 this year we will have the ability to copy calculated measures and it isnt feasible as of this moment? I really appreciate all the help, Thank you!

When using a cross model copy step to copy calculated measure to an other measure in 2nd model, then calculated value is not copied correctly. Say my calculated measure is amount = rate * qty. I copy amount to amount_copy in cross model copy step. Then its showing wrong data in amount_copy field
