Experts,

Is there anyway i can see the contents of an ODS i,e the transaction data ? If so, i would like to know this process.

I know that this very basic, but then i am new to BW - so i would really appreciate it if you could let me know about it.

Thanks,

Nandita

Nothing different with regards to steps to laod ODS.

Let me explain here.

1. Create file system in RSA1 - source system.

2. Make the file in CSV or ASCII.

3. Assign the file to an info source .

4. Maintain the communication structure ( the order of the fields here should be the same as it is in the file).

5. Map and activate the info source.

6. Right click the ODS and create update rules and map the fields from the info source to the fields in ODS and activate.

7. Create the info package and load data.

Once again - Thank you for your help.

Also in Se16; type your ODS name with a star * in the front and pull down and you will see 3 tables ; pick the one with "A". and press f8 and you will see the contents.

Ravi,

Is there any document which would explain the process of updating data into an ODS from a flat file ?

That would really help me.

Thanks,

Nandita
