Hello experts, iam going to consume an enterprise service directly from SAP ECC6, using webdynpro abap as user interface, reading the documentation on these subjects, i found terms like Enterprise services repository , an services registry, even some times they use SAP PI between the user interface and the backend, ..

¿ is it possible to consume an enterprise service by an abap web dynpro DIRECTLY, without all of that infraestructure?

¿does any body has an example, howto, necessary steps, ?

thanks in advance

Hi,

Webservices are always consumed directly if you have endpoint wsdl, role of ESR and SR is only limited to design time and discovery mode of service only.

So go ahead and use webservice directly in your application (SAP or non-SAP).

You can directly use the endpoint WSDL from within Web Dynpro

Hi,

It's possible to consume an enterprise service / webservice directly using Web Dynpro Abap without all the other stuff...

Maybe start your research here:

You'll need to dig a bit on SDN for more solid examples (and there are lots) but it is possible to consume the webservice directly.
