Consume native AWS Services (DocumentDB) (VPC peering)

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, the SAP Cloud Platform no longer offers the MongoDB service, so I want to use the AWS DocumentDB Service for an App.

To include the AWS account and its services I have provided the Service Brocker in my CF account. Now the services are available in the Service Marketplace of my Space and the provisioning of a new instance of the DocumentDB worked without problems and a DocDB cluster was created.

Now I want to connect my app to the DocumentDB. Unfortunately connections to the DocumentDB are only possible from inside the VPC where the cluster is provided. The DocumentDB does not provide any public APIs, here the access is possible e.g. via a SSH tunnel. (Link1, Link2)

Is it possible to establish a connection between my space / subaccount and the VPC somehow? Technically the space where the app is provided is based on AWS.

Regards
Simon

Hi gregorw,

thank you for your answer.
I have now also created a ticket at SAP. As soon as I have an answer or a solution suggestion, I will update this thread.

Best regards
Simon

Hi

after reaching out to SAP Support, I received the following answer:

Unfortunately, SAP Cloud Platform does currently not support accessing AWS native backing services with private endpoints. This may change in future, but there is no concrete timeline.
