Hello,

When system connection tests are viewed for the above mentioned connector, there are 3 options:

SAP Web AS Connection

ITS Connection

Connection Test for Connectors

The first one tests as ok, while the other 2 fail. In the ITS Connection Test, there are 7 steps. The test fails on the fifth step. Log is shown below:

ITS Connection

Test Details:

The test consists of the following steps:

1. Check the validity of the system ID in the system object

2. Check whether the system can be retrieved

3. Check whether the system object has a valid system alias

4. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object

5. Validate the following parameters: ITS protocol; ITS host name

6. Check the validity of any user mapping in the system object

7. Check HTTP/S connectivity to the defined backend application

Results

1. The system ID is valid

2. Retrieval of the system was successful

3. Retrieval of the default alias was successful

4. The system object represents an SAP system

5. Some of the following parameters are invalid: ITS Protocol () ITS Host Name ()

I need to resolve this as quickly as possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards

open the BW system object.

selct user management from property cagtegory deop down list.

select logon method as 'UIDPW' and User Mapping type as 'admin, user'

Hope it will help you.

Have checked these options and they are all correctly set. Still not working however. What assigned roles and groups need to be set?

Hi Khan,

It is a user mapping issue.

go to user admin->identity management

and go to ur user id and check the tab user mapping.

In that you will find all the system aliases. Select the system relevant system alias and give the user id and password for that system.

You also check whether the user id and password are working for that BW system. Then only it will connect.

Raghu,

Thanks for your reply. Actually I am not a basis person I don't know much about this, but I have just been told that we are not using ITS. The issue is with the 3rd test: Connection Test for Connectors

The log for this is:

Test Connection with Connector

Test Details:

The test consists of the following steps:

1. Retrieve the default alias of the system

2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object

Results

Retrieval of default alias successful

Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Which Version of BW are you using?

If it is WAS 6.40 and above you can use integrated ITS or you should have standa alone ITS intalled in your landscape

In property catagory User Management for your system,Please set log on type as User/password.

and then from User Adminsitration --> Identity management

you shoudl give the mapping user to this system alias

BI version is 7.1. ITS is not necessary, the connecter test is failing.

As suggested hope u have provided the User Management proerties for the system

Logon Method -- UIDPW

User Mapping type -- admin,user

Then perform the mapping as suggested by Ragahvendra

I tried changing the mapping using a different ID but it doesn't save. It changes it but when I log off and log on again it shows the old mapping which doesn't work.

Also, where do I check the Logon method and User mapping type?

Thanks for your help.

First you need to change Logon method and User mapping type.

then you should go to user adminsitration for providing user mapping details.

In the property category, select user management and then you can see the following proerties

Logon method and User mapping type.

hope it is clear, let me know for any prob
