Company Code Authorisation Issue

Former Member

Hello Gurus,

We are using Cognos as front end reporting tool (only as a reporting tool) but cognos using BEX queries as a source. One of our users has facing a problem with ''Company Code'' field in the report.

Data flows like below

Datasource                        ODSO

BUKRS                              0COMP_CODE (Authorisation Relevant set for this object)

ODSO                                ODSO

OCOMP_CODE                 GFICOMPCODE (Authorisation Relevant set for this object)

ODSO                                 CUBE

GFICOMPCODE                 GFICOMPCODE

In RSECADMIN we assigned authorisation for GFICOMPCODE for the user.

Now, when only this user selecting the company code field in this report he is not able to see the data in the report. Other users have the same authorisations and they are able to access the report without any problems.

By any chance is it better to give authorisation for 0COMP_CODE also or is there any other way around for this issue.

Thanks in advance\

Phanindra

Hi Phani,

if its authorisation issue, user may get error message saying like no authorisation. He is not able to see mean is he getting any messge or blank result.

as you said other user have acess, please cross check/compare  authorisations for user who facing this issue with other who have acess.

Thanks

Hello Raman,

Thanks for prompt reply,

User getting no data for the field ' Company Code' but he is getting data for rest of the fields in the report. users are authorised to see few company codes only and we assigned them for everyone similarly, no way different with each other.

Thanks

Hi Phani,

please check with other user, execute the same report for same company code, if he also won't get data, mean there is no data in sources.

Thanks

Phani, in the Analysis Authorizations, you would also need to set "*" for 0COMP_CODE. All authorization relevant infoobjects must be either expressly limited (For example, IN01) or expressly unlimited ( * ) for your security to function properly.

Using RSECADMIN and test running the query for each user will allow you to trace the problem with your security. The test tools are quite nice.. you do not need to involve the users at all.
