Hi SAT,

Thank you for the help. Please do clarify my questions if possible.

1. What is an operating concern?

2. Is it possible to create an operating concern? If so how?

3. What exactly is happening behind the scene during data extraction from CO-PA? For example, what are the tables from which the extraction is happening, so on n so forth.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks and regards,

Sanjay

ting Concern

OperaA representation of a part of an organization for which the sales market is structured in a uniform manner.

By setting off the costs against the revenues, you can calculate an operating profit for the individual market segments that are defined by a combination of classifying characteristics (such as product group, customer group, country, or distribution channel). The market segments are called profitability segments.

You can assign multiple controlling areas to one operating concern.

2 Yes, you could create your own operating concern back in R/3 system

Hope this helps

Thanks

Accessing tables in R/3 side depends on your extractor. As you know in COPA there are no standard BW delivered extractors so every time we have to create our own extractor depends on the requirement.

Some of the COPA tables are

CE1xxx, CExxxx- Line item tables

CE4xxxx - Segment Table

Hope this helps

Thanks

HI Sanjay

COPA has 4 tables. For a full run, the extraction process is different and for subsequent delta runs the extraction process is different (not radically different though).

As others would have already mentioned, please go through the HOW TO COPA document. It will explain most of ur answers.

Also, RSA3 run for a copa datasource would result in funny numbers. Dont bother. Just follwo the document, have two infopacks and test. It should be fine.
