CHECKDB ended with error "XPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE failed for BRCONNECT - Reason: program_start_error"

Hello All,

Our production system is a cluster environment.

ASCS + DB in Node 0
ERS in node 1
2 Standalone dialog instance application is running in each server.

Checkdb is working fine without any error in the above condition

But, If we moved the ASCS and DB from Node 0 to Node 1 (during Failover), we are getting the following error in Checkdb(db13) " SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE failed for BRCONNECT - Reason: program_start_error: For More Information, See SYS"

Also SAPXPG_DBDEST_hostDB RFC in node 1 is working fine and but in node 0 its throwing an error.

SAPXPG_DBDEST_hostDB RFC is working fine in node1 (where DB is available)

SAPXPG_DBDEST_hostDB RFC is not working fine in node0 (where DB is not available)

We set the below parameter

SAPDBHOST = virtual hostname of DB

gw/netstat_once to 0

DBACOCKPIT -> "Jobs" -> "Backend Konfiguration" -Menü -> "Administration" -> ORACLE-Settings set to virtual hostname of DB

AIX : 7.1
DB : Oracle 12.1.0.2
SAP : SAP NW 7.5

Please help us to resolve this

Regards

subb

Dear Subbu,

To fix this issue you have to maintained virtual DB name in SM59 (SAPXPG_DBDEST)as your system is distributed.

Please check your virtual SAPDBHOST name and maintained. Thank you

Dear Subbu,

When executing RFC Destination SAPXPG_DBDEST_DBhost on node1 (where ASCS and DB were moved during Failover), connection works correctly. But, SAPXPG_DBDEST_DBhost on node0 fails with error:

LOCATION: SAP-Gateway on host <node0> /sapgw00
DETAIL: no connect of TP sapxpg from host <hostname> after 20 sec
COMPONENT: SAP-Gateway
RETURN CODE: 242

Please also ensure SAPXPG exists on the server, and can be triggered by SAP-Gateway on host <node0> /sapgw00
