Charts in SAP Analytics Cloud

Hello SAP'ers,

This is my first post in the community.

Actually I have an issue with the variance of a chart with the type of data that i am working with.

I am trying to add in variance in a chart- however the chart comprises of weekdays data only.

So what i am looking for is :

Wednesday : -10

Thursday : 6

Friday : 8

Monday : 3

Tuesday : 3

So the variances should ideally be

Wednesday: -10

Thursday: +16

Friday: +2

Monday: -5

Tuesday: 0

However, with SAP analytics Cloud I am getting the following:

Wednesday : -10

Thursday : +16

Friday : +2

Monday : +3

Tuesday : 0

It looks like it re initializes the variance whenever the x axis data is not consecutive.

Is there any way i can by pass this and have the variances show up as ideally it should have been?

Please advise.

Kind Regards,
Girish

This behavior has got updated in subsequent release. If there are missing dates then the comparison takes the previous date as no value and would not show any variance. Previously it used to consider the missing value as zero and will give the current value as either positive/negative variance(as shown in your case).

Another update to show the actual variance between the last booked date instead of last calendar date would make this feature really good.

Hi,

did you check if you chart shows booked or unbooked data ?

Seems that in your case the variance for Monday is +3 because the day before is empty.

Hello Ingo,

Thank you for your response.

My data comprises of only Weekdays. No saturdays or Sundays.

Hi,

Yes i did enable to show unbooked data- however the variance issue is still the same- the data now are independent- the differences shown are by day and not by previous day.

See screenshots.

This is before unbooked data is added

This is after unbooked data- it remains the same.
