Charactersitic relationship when selecting the filter

Hello,

I have a problem with characteristic relationship that I was not able to solve.

I run a query with defined characteristic relationship. In the filter when opening the query I am still able to see all available values and not only values according to the char. relationship.

But when the query opens and I change the filter in the navigation area I see the values correctly according to the char. relationship.

My question is, is this a correct behavior or a bug? Is the characteristic relationship working just after the runtime of the query?

Many thanks for any help.

Jan

Hi Jan,

If go to the InfoObject maintenance screen, tab "Business Explorer" you will find two Query filter value selection option.

One at defining the query, one at running the query.

If these settings are different, you will have different behaviour.

Have a look and use the settings you need.

Hello Udo,

thanks for your comment. I have checked this tab earlier but it doesn't solve my problem. I still see master data in the filter.

I'm thinking about solving it with a compound characteristic but first I want to be sure that char. relationship really work this way = they are checked just after the query execution.

Any more help in this issue will be very appreciated.

Jan
