Hello,
When I create an Adaptive RFC model the dialog that asks me to specify the model name, package, source folder, etc. has default values in the "Default logical system name for model instances" and "... RFC metadata".
I know I can type in another name there but I'd like to change the default name to something that fits our naming conventions. Can I change that? If so, can someone tell me where?
Thanks in advance!
David.

Hi David,
See this thread:

Suresh,
Thank you for your response. However, that is not what I was looking for. Sorry if my post was not clear.
I knew that I could change it AFTER the import. I also know that I can type in something else besides the default DURING the import.
What I am asking is if there is a way to change some configuration setting so that the 'default' that comes up in the drop down DURING the import is something different than what comes 'out-of-the-box' with NWDS.
Hope that clears up what I'm looking for.
David.

Hi David,
I dont think we can change the default dropdown list before model import.
Two way we can change the default logical system name.
First option is above blog thread.
Second option is expand ur model class double click output class.now select properties view. there u can change the jco destination and remove your JCO destination through webdynpro content administrator.
See this thread:
I hope i understood your question.

hi,
Another way u can change the JCo names.
goto the model classes under select any of the structure and goto the proerties theere under model settings modelInstancedefaullogical system you change ur Model name.
And Goto the dictinary click on the model name and goto the properties modify your Meta data name.
This might helps u.
Thanks,
Lohi.
Thank you all for your responses. Even though I didn't find exactly what I was looking for I am marking this as answered because it sounds like it's not possible.
I've each of you some points for your responses.
Thanks again.

Thank you all for your responses but it seems that there is still confusion on what I'm asking for.
I understand that I can type in a JCO destination name that's different than the defaults in the drop down and I understand that I can change the name later by opening the properties. I knew that before I posted the question.
My question is if there is some configuration or preferences setting somewhere that allows me to change the default names that show up in the drop down.
Thanks!

hi,
you can specify the new name in that dialog.
another way is in the webdynpro explorer you take the model node and open the model classes subnode...take the properties in that you can see the value assigned to the modelInstance_defaultLogicalSystem property. you can type in the new name there.
for metadata, take the dictionary node in the webdynpro explorer and in that you can see your model's dictionary entries. take properties of that and then you can change the value assigned to Logical System name
