How do I change the default repository password in SP05. Currently the default set is "Admin" and no password.

Hi Ketan,

More clarification on Tim's answer.... every repository always has an administrative account (by default, it is Admin with no password). You can either set a password on the Admin account, or you can create a new administrator account and delete Admin -- every repository must have at least one administrator account. Note that if you forget the password to the Admin/administrator account, you will need help from SAP to unlock the repository. Effective in SP5 Patch 2, you will be able to archive a repository with server administrator privilege instead of repository-level permissions, so if you are locked out of a repository, you can archive it and send it to SAP support so we can unlock it for you. This is probably more than you wanted to know right now.

Ketan,

The repository password is set by the users defined for that repository. The default password is set because there is a default user created named "Admin" with no password set.

To change this you need to go into the Console and set up a User(s) in the repository. Under the tables in the repository there is an area named "Admin". Once you expand this out you will see the options for Roles and Users. Each user can then have different Roles assigned to them. Under the "Functions" and "Tables and Fields" tabs for the Roles you can assign what rights each Role receives.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Tim
