SITUATION
My customer are running a "knowledge portal" on EP 6.0 SP9 giving access to various information within KM.
QUESTION
Is it possible to define the "Tree View of All" as default view in the KM Discussions iView?
As it is now, the "List View of All" id displayed as default, and the "Tree View of All" can be chosen from a dropdown-menu. I would like to change the order of these to views.
If any of you have any solutions for this, it would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Christian Staalby

Hi,
I'm on EP 6.0 SP2 and am trying to change to the default number of posts (3 at the moment) that appear on the Iview.
Could any of you please suggest how I should be changing that?

hello guys,
My question is related to what you are discussing. Hope one of you can help me with this.
We are on EP6 SP5 and I set up ordering to be manual.
But then I can only see the order menu from the KM Content -> folder name.
Why am not able to see the "order" option from an iView?
I think a normal user with enough privileges can have access to setup the order of files.

Hi,
There is an option under KM folder there you can choose View --- then choose the way you want to display , there are options , then you can sort them Ascending / Descending.

hi Christian
The Ordering can be changed in the folder by enabling the manual ordering. If you want to display the discussions based on latest updation, that can be done by using the ordering that can be provided in the list renderer prpperties(property for sorting). If you want some other ordering (Based on importance) you can create a new metadata property and set this for the ordering.

Hi Christian,
i believe this passage from a SAP EP 6.0 KM - Flexible UI presentation should answer you question:
You can make settings for the user interface in several places in the system.
· Folders
You can define the depiction for the individual folders or for the entire subordinate subtree in the Details dialog box. If you have the service permission Layout, you can define the depiction for all users. All users can also personalize how the folders are depicted (see Depiction of the Folder Contents).
· iView Properties
You can set an exclusive layout set in the iView properties.
· Object Type Handler (OTH)
With the Object Type Handler you can define individual parameters, certain renderers, or a layout set. You can use it for individual folders, subtrees in repositories, or complete repositories.
· Global Default Layout Profile
In the configuration of Content Management you can define a default layout profile to be used if nothing else is defined.
The priority of the settings depends on the layout set mode that you define in the iView properties:
Layout Set Mode As default
1. Folders
2. Object Type Handler (OTH)
3. iView Properties
4. Global Default Layout Profile
Layout Set Mode Exclusive
1. Folders
2. iView Properties
3. Object Type Handler (OTH)
4. Global Default Layout Profile
You can search SAP Help for more information concerning specific topics like OTH or Layout Set Mode.
If you have further question feel free to come back and ask (and assign points)
Best regards,
Robert
