Hi han zhang,

Copy the function code given for the default search and modify the function to achieve the functionality you want

and paste it in the same file to get a new button.

Han -

Here is what you do:

Download the toolarea par (com.sap.....toolarea.par.bak).

Remove the ".bak" part of the name.

Import the par into NW Dev Studio (or Eclipse. If you use NW Studio, there is a bug. To workaround the bug, you have to manually place the jar file into the exlib directory. Do a search on this forum for NW Studio Bug for details).

Then change the entry in the "toolareaiView_nls_en.properties" file. Change the "SEARCH_BUTTON_TEXT=Search" to "SEARCH_BUTTON_TEXT=News Search!"

Rebuild the project.

"Export" the par file.

Upload it to the portal.

That should be it!

Hi han zhang,

you have customize the default page to achieve what you have asked. see the following link for details

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/23/c0e240beb0702ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm

I am sure you would not have asked for a htmlb button but in case

<hbj:button

id="New"

text="Search"

width="125px"

tooltip="Creates new user"

onClick="New"

disabled="false"

design="STANDARD" />

<hbj:button

id="New"

text="NEW_Search"

width="125px"

tooltip="Creates new user"

onClick="New"

disabled="false"

design="STANDARD" />
