Change hostname

Dear Forum,

I just changed the server hostname. As well, changing the profiles and profiles' name to adapt with the new server name. But, when I started, SAP system didn't start. The sapstart.trc and sapstart.log show there is still pointing to the old profile name.

Are there any configurations to change?

Regards,

Agoes

Decided NOT to change the hostname, since it is a very tedious job.

having a look at the SAP versions supported by this note (up to 4.0) I concludet:

forget it.

the only supported way is homogenious systemcopy as far as CI/J2EE CI or database instance is concerned.

For all other instances: new installation.

There are a LOT of things to change:

- profile

- c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

- registry keys (for SAP + Oracle)

- users (OPS$)

- Oracle database

This list is not complete, there may be more...

I would also suggest to reinstall the system and use a recent backup to restore the host and database.
