Central SLD-User credent.are invalid or user is denied access in Runtime WB

When I navigate in Runtime workbench I get errors:

<b>Error during communication with System Landscape Directory: User credentials are invalid or user is denied access</b>

This error was posted multiple times.

e.g.

I think I have a slightly different situation.

We have a central SLD which is on SOLMAN box.

I have connected our XI boxes to it. Configuration from my end looks ok so:

- SLDCHECK works fine

- RFC destinations were created and test works fine (I am not 100% sure which of the lot I created should look at SLD, and which should look back back at XI, Currently I only changed SAPSLDAPI to point to SLD. Do I have to change LCRSAPRFC as well

- In Exchange profile I have properly set access data to SLD

o com.sap.aii.connect.cr.httpport

o com.sap.aii.connect.cr.name

o com.sap.aii.connect.landscape.httpport

o com.sap.aii.connect.landscape.name

- PIRWBUSER (we are on 7.0) is not locked and is not locking while I am getting errors

- I maintained SLDAPICUST (Host, Port and user maintained) coresponding user exists on SLD/SolMan side with aproprriate roles assigned. In VA I assigned the role to him

What am I missing. Any hints how can I diagnose the problem

Ahh ... by the way.

Maybe you will be able to clarify which RFC connections should point to SLA and which ones to XI, in case of separate no XI SLD

Thanks for your help. Did not come across that note. I will check tomorrow if this fixes my problem. Then I will close this message

Answer to the first question:

We have one SLD for all 4 XI systems we have.

I did follow that note to hook all of the to a single SLD.

Answering the second question.

I have no access to system right now. I will have in the morning.

What puzzels me is that erro reports problems accessing SLD and the user PIWRBUSER is on XI side. Does this user locks out on ABAB side or on UME side?

This is a fresh install and that user password was not changed

Verify again that all the system has the same password for the user PIWRBUSER, and unlock it where it is locked.

Users on all four xi boxes would be the same, as i used the same password in the installation.

On sld system which is no XI system this user does not exist.

Should i create it?

Yesss.

Follow the note 768148 "Using a separate SLD for XI"

HI,

To access SLD, yes, you need to create the User Id in the SLD server.

Probably this SAP note may help u- 720717

Hi Mariusz,

try to access:

http://<host>:<port>/useradmin

logon as PIRWBUSER and see if password change is needed.

Hope this help

Do you have just 1 SLD for more that one XI system ?

If it is so, follow the note 720717 "Reduce the number of System Landscape Directories (SLD) "
