Try placing the Subreport in Report Footer and Supress it.

I managed to get around this in my report my leaving it in the group header, supressing all sections within the sub-report then making it as small as possible. Also I unticked can-grow to make sure it didnt get any bigger then chose fit section. Can't see it at all now, can only click it by going back to design view.

Hi All,

I have a subreport in a Group Header that I need to run in order to get some variables and pass it back to the main report. I don't want anything from the subreport to display on the main report. I'm just using it to get some variables.

If I suppress the report or the section, the main report shows the shared variable as 0. Is there a way to hide the report, but still have it run so I can get the variables?

My problem is, it is showing some blank space in my main report which is because of Subreport could please advice me some solution for my problem, how to hide that blank space...

Thanks in Advance

As you're discovering - suppressing a section in which a subreport is located will cause the subreport to not be processed.

To work around this design, suppress all sections within the subreport. Then resize the subreport's height to be as thin as possible. Setting the section to underlay is also a good idea.

Or Format everything in the subreport as white text on a white background and format the Group Header in the main rpt to 'underlay following sections'. That way it still passes data to the main report but doesn't show or take up space.
