Hi Gurbinder,

I'm not sure I understood your question ... are you interested in Authrizations, I mean in how to controll BW users giving them the capability to do something or not?

Bye

Hi, i am actually referring to Authorizations, i was under impression that you can do it on the ODS level and infocube level. This is what i needed information about.

There are two main Authorization Objects for this purpouse:

- S_RS_ODSO

- S_RS_ICUBE

check out with TCODE AUTH_DISPLAY_OBJECTS (that gives a brief but clear explanation) their usage, under Componet RS - Business Information Warehouse.

Hope it helps

Hi!

in bw you can maintain authorizations at different levels you can use basically 2 kinds of authorizations

1st is Administrator workbench objects provided by sap these are used to restrict theaccess to Info cubes,ODS and diferent AWB objects .

2nd type is reporting authorizations these can be manually created by customer for customerspecific requirement and can be used to restrict the access to heirarchies, keyfigures, and specific to a infoobject and so on...

following links will provide more details

Gurbiner ,

If you are referring to authorizations , there is plenty of material in this forum , but again security can also be with regard to physical security and in that case you can even stand guard over your server!!!!

Please be specific on what you are exactly looking at.
