BW 7.4 - query designer - comparaison with the previous period

Hi,

I built a query with  a comparaison of previous period

The design of the query is following:

First column:

Fiscal year: variable of selection, for example : 2016

Period : variable of selection , fo example for february : 002

Second column :

Fiscal year : variable of selection, for example : 2016

Period : use the customizing 'variable offset value : -1 , so for example : 002-1 = 001 'January'

The query is OK for the period from february to december. But there is a problem for January

Indeed, only for this period the fiscal year must be 2015 and no 2016 and the period is 012 and not (001-1=000) for the second column

Question : can you have  idea in order to solve this problem?

Hello,

To resolve the problem you should use ' variable exit' .

Second column :

Fiscal year : variable of selection, for example : 2016

Period : use the exit variable , when value of the first variable is 001 just copie it , when different calculate with (-1)
