BSP HAP_DOCUMENT Portal runtime error - url ":///sap..."

When I try to run the BSP HAP_DOCUMENT in the Manager Self-Service (MSS), I am getting a portal runtime error. When I view the error page com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.BSP::HTTPRenderLayer, I notice that the url does not have the SAP server name, but rather begins with ":///sap".

If I replace ":///sap" with the SAP server name like this "http://sapserver.company.com:1080/" then the link works.

Any ideas on this error?

System alias is setup.

Does anyone know why the hostname is blank?

if host name is blank then the "WAS host, path, protocol" is NOT setup in the system alias . double check that

Thank you for your reply. Can you give me more details where these settings are in SAP? Which transaction or table? Thanks.

this is config in portal not in R/3 system.

in portal they create a system definition for backend systems where they have to set up these info.

Thanks again for the reply. Can you be more specific as to where this configuration is done in the Portal?
