Dear Gurus,

I am new in BSP programming .Just i have tried Standard BSP application 'TUTORIAL_2' in CRM server .

at the time of Execution it is giving me error as follows,

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for

The dnsserver returned:

Name Error: The domain name does not exist.

This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.

Check if the address is correct.

Is there anything else that we should take into consideration while executting BSP applications.

thanks in advance.

with Regards,

Rajesh Chaskar

The server name has to be resolved to get the IP addess. In your case, the DNS server (the server that is responsible for this action) seems to be unable to find the IP address related to the server

You may ask you IT guys to check this.

As a workaround, if you know the IP address for , simply add another entry to your hosts file in the Windows/system32/drivers/etc folder like this

<IP address>

That should allow your browser to access the system (while the IT guys are fixing the DNS).

Best regards,

Hi Ramu,

We appreciate your eagerness to help people. But if you are not sure about the issue/answer please restraing from answering.

However in this question the issue is related to be not able to resolve the ip address from domain and your answer noway relates to that.

Or do i miss the point?

Have a look at this weblog by Raja,

[Running your first BSP application|] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];

Also you can have a look at TXN SICF in SICF

and check out if the node for the application you are trying to execute exits there.
