Hi All,
I am trying to use MS Access DB tables as my Source in my BODS 4.0, for that when I try to connect using Repository Management console, I do not get that option.
Kindly help me to find a way, if you know please give some detailed steps to achieve it.
Earlier I tried to configure Sql Server as a Local repository, I could do it.
I also used Excel file as source and target as a Text file, I was able to do it.
I also want to know if I can create one Local and one Central repository with the same Database (say based on access restrictions on some tables)
When I try to do it, it says it will overwrite the existing repository before creating the existing one.
many thanks,
Krishna.
Hi Krishna,
Are you using a Windows only or Windows/Linux environment?
I'm asking because the repo-manager you are using seems windows (you can't see mssql server..) on Linux this is a command line.
On windows, if MS Access is on the machine, goto the control panel -> Administrative tools -> Data sources (=ODBC connections-Manager)
Double-Click on it, tab System DSN -> You will see MS Access drivers to select and follow the Wizard.
At the end you will have a connection with a name you chose.
You then return to DS and use ODBC driver and there will be a pulldown menu that has that name you have just configured in it.
Regards
Norbert

Hi Krishna/Team,
Can you please share your thoughts on how you achieved this? I am able to connect to MS Access as i can view data in BODS Designer but when running a job, it it failing with below error. Please assist.
ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> for data source <MS Access Local> failed: <[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified>. Notify Customer Support.
Thanks,

Hi Krishna,
Even I am trying to read data from MS Access tables using SAP BODS. The tables are present at a particular location.
I hope you must have created a datastore to complete your request.
So could you please tell me the procedure to create a datastore which can be used to read data from these tables?
Please reply ASAP.
Thanks,
Surbhi

Hi Krishna
To access MS access tables, Create an ODBC connection first and then create a Datastore in BODS of type ODBC to work on MS access tables.
