BODS Job - Access to business user

Hello Experts,

We have a requirement of a BODS job to be triggered by business user on ad-hoc basis.

I have been through various sites and could get that this can achieved by creating a webservice.

What i don't understand is, once after the addition of the job in "Web services" tab of CMC what are the steps for projecting this job to business user to execute.

Do i need to create an webpage which consumes this web service ?

Why do i need to create a web service datastore in designer?

Do i need to have any webservice adapters?

Basically can i have the steps on what needs to be done once after the webservice is added from CMC, for the business user to have the facility to trigger the job.

Regards,

Surya

Simplest way to achieve this by giving business user access to management console. And let the user execute from there.

Else -

Publish job as a web service and trigger it from soap ui.

Please follow this -

You can also embed a DS job launch command in the BO Webi interface.

  1. Create a schedule in DS management console, give it a name (let's say SCHED), select BOE scheduler and make sure the Active box is checked.
  2. Start the BI Launchpad. Navigate to Public Folders > Data Services. You'll see 2 files, SCHED of type Program and SCHED.txt of Type Text.
  3. Right-click SCHED. Select Schedule from the pop-up menu. In Recurrence set Run object to Now. Select Schedule.
